We did it! Summer’s here! Forecast for all sun over the weekend, so it’s the perfect weekend to get out of the concrete jungle and head outside the perimeter. Here are 5 locations outside of Winnipeg that you should check out this weekend for some all-family fun, and enjoy a cold Farmery while you’re at it:
Kris’ Fish and Chips: Located in beautiful Gimli, Manitoba, we advise you just to go check out the town if you’ve never been. Sandy beaches, great people and some of the best Fish and Chips you’ll have across the prairies. You want to try some of the best fish in chips in Gimli? Check out Kris’ Fish and Chips right down 1st Ave. With a beautiful patio, fair prices and a 92% rating on urbanspoon, Kris’ is the perfect place to enjoy a Manitoban classic with an ice cold Farmery
Shooter’s: Not quite outside the perimeter (but close enough) Shooter’s is the perfect golf course for non-competitive players. Located in Riverbend, the par-3 course is perfect for beginners, or for groups looking for a challenge. With a beautiful right off the Red River, you can hit the course and enjoy some Farmery’s while your buddy drives the cart.
Sand Bar Motor Inn: On-looking Grand Beach, The Sand Bar is the perfect place to bring the kids for a day at the beach and enjoy a Farmery on a hot day. Grand Beach is Manitoba’s most famous strip of sand, and for good reason. With a beautiful outdoor patio, you can sit outside while your kids enjoy the sun.
Benjamins: Just a 20 minute drive to Winnipeg to Selkirk, consider this our date-night pick on the list. You think you got a favourite pizza spot? Think again. Benjamins has an outdoor courtyard where they make Wood Fired Pizza using classic stone ovens right in front of you. Surprise your date with this beautiful restaurant, and your knowledge of locally grown beer.
Narrows West Lodge: This is for the fishermen. The Narrows is the go-to spot for anglers all across Manitoba. What’s even better is that there’s a spot where everyone in the area goes to. The Narrows West Lodge has all the necessities you need to slay em’, and you can stop in and have a cold one when you come back with a rack full of pickerel.
